Cleanup Crew, reporting for duty

Take out the junk.
Keep the good stuff.

Old caches. Forgotten installers. Rebuildable project files. Find the clutter, search the results, and protect anything you want to keep.

Evict an app with a clear list of related files. App data stays yours to decide about.

  1. 1

    Sniff it out.

A scan reads metadata. It doesn’t remove files.

  2. 2

    You call it.

Review exact paths. Keep what matters. Confirm what goes.

  3. 3

    Leave a trail.

Every completed move gets a receipt. Restore eligible items from local Trash without replacing existing files.

Recent, active and incomplete items are protected. Trash isn’t emptied automatically. Recovery depends on the item still being there; older receipts and external volumes use Finder.

Big personality. Small movements.

A hog with
some manners.

The pig gives a little greeting and moves during a scan. Native image-layer animation keeps the effect simple. Hide the window and the movement stops. Reduce Motion and an off switch are built in.

Live monitoring and disk scans still use resources. Full-app performance benchmarking is ongoing.

Before you crank anything

A few
fair questions.

Can I download it yet?

Crank My Hog 1.6 is a local preview in active testing. A public download is being prepared.

Will it work on my Mac?

The current preview requires an Intel Mac running macOS 15 or later and has been tested on an Intel Mac Pro. Apple silicon builds are not included yet. Available GPU, temperature, fan, battery and system-power readings vary by hardware.

Does “crank” mean it changes system settings?

No magic turbo switch. Monitoring shows resource use; cleanup is a read-only scan until you choose files and confirm moving them to Trash. The app doesn’t overclock your Mac or automatically adjust its fans.

Can I get deleted files back?

Eligible items moved by this version can be restored through Hog History while they remain in local Trash. Existing files are never replaced. Missing parent folders, external-volume items, login agents and older receipts require manual Finder recovery. Moving to Trash does not free disk space until it is emptied.

Is my data going anywhere?

Monitoring history and receipts stay on your Mac. The app has no account, cloud sync or analytics. This website has no tracking scripts or forms; the host processes ordinary requests to serve the site.

What happened to WattPig?

New name. Same app underneath. Crank My Hog preserves WattPig and Pulse preferences and local history. Internal data-folder names still say Pulse to avoid disrupting existing installations.
